Displayed in the link below is one of my final test zines for this current project. This is not my overall final zine for hand in. This was a test zine I created with adding in some relative research from this current project. I decided to exclude this research (test shoots/inspirational artists) in the final zine as I felt it disrupted the whole theme/flow of my final images and the important meaning behind them. I wanted the images to express my project rather than the research. Therefore I decided to keep my research just within the blog itself . I also felt the portfolio/zine looked more professional with the less research displayed. I found the most important aspect of it was the images which display the story of my whole entire project. Also my theme was based on a series of images which would all be displayed in black and white and I felt this didn’t fit as well with the overall effect I wanted to portray with the test shots and research in colour. I was really pleased with the chosen design for my final zine and I enjoyed experimenting with different layouts.
- The ballet shoes represent the beginning stages of anxiety. Displaying no human face/emotions represents the shyness of that person. I also chose to shoot the ballet shoes , not just from my inspiration of Horst P Horst’s shot which I looked at within my research, but I used to do ballet as a youngster and at this stage in life was where my anxiety began to show, so I feel this fits well within my project.
- The middle image is in fact one of my last images within the series , representing a fashion/ confident posed shot. If my exhibition prints were to be placed on a wall I would not present them in the order I have displayed them within the final zine, as I feel personally the colours of the three chosen final prints work best in the order displayed below.
- The third image is one of my favourite shots throughout the whole of my series. I love the pose and tones placed upon the models skin. This image is displayed through the middle section of my series , representing the anxiety starting to slowly disappear. I also really like how the reflection from the table emphasises the model more, it makes the image even more angelic.
